Alameda Labor Council

What is the Labor Movement?

Our movement is millions of working people joining hands for dignity, respect, a voice at work and the better pay, medical care, retirement security that comes with collective bargaining. Our movement is the voice of working people, fighting for the organized and unorganized. Our movement is a partner with organizations who share a vision of social justice.

In Alameda County, the Labor Council joins together 100,000 union members from more than 100 local unions. The Council coordinates political action, community coalitions, and contract campaign support, including sanctioning strikes and picket lines.
