OAKLAND —The 100,000-member Alameda Labor Council will see a temporary change in leadership as Sharon Cornu, the organization's secretary-treasurer, has been tapped to go to Washington, DC, to work on the midterm elections.

Our movement is millions of working people joining hands for dignity, respect, a voice at work and the better pay, medical care, retirement security that comes with collective bargaining. Our movement is the voice of working people, fighting for the organized and unorganized. Our movement is a partner with organizations who share a vision of social justice.
