After standing up for better working conditions in a 5-day strike, Piedmont Gardens resident facility for seniors illegally fired 38 skilled workers who collectively have over 400 years of experience providing care at Piedmont Gardens. Click headline to read a letter from two of the workers

American labor laws are badly broken, leaving workers unprotected and unable to enforce important rights. Relentless corporate attacks have weakened labor laws and enforcement over the past four decades. Employer opposition reduces workers' ability to bargain collectively, and to advocate for policies that improve the lives of all workers, like the minimum wage, pension, health care and safety protections.
